DP21/2: Diversity and inclusion in the financial sector – working together to drive change

Diversity alone is not enough. Inclusion means that everyone feels involved, valued, respected, treated fairly, and that these elements are embedded into a firm’s culture. An inclusive culture is therefore necessary to enable the benefits of diversity of thought to flourish in practice. It not only encourages every person to be able to be themselves at work, but also to make a contribution and feel empowered to provide challenge, raise concerns and perform at their best. A culture of psychological safety is important for fostering inclusion.
